The Ogun Tech Community (OTC) has successfully concluded a collaborative workshop series aimed at bridging the gap between academic learning and the rapidly evolving technology industry.
Titled "Building AI Driven Data Solutions with Microsoft Fabric," the initiative brought together students, technology enthusiasts, and aspiring professionals for hands on learning in modern data engineering, analytics, and artificial intelligence. The workshop was facilitated by Data Engineer Akpan Samuel, who guided participants through practical applications of enterprise grade data technologies.
The first session was held at the ICT Laboratory of Crescent University, Abeokuta, in collaboration with the College of Information and Communication Technology. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of data engineering, including data pipelines, database architecture, and preparing datasets for artificial intelligence and machine learning applications.
The second session took place at the Department of Computer Science Laboratory, Chrisland University. Building on the foundation established during the first day, participants explored real time data processing, dashboard development, analytics workflows, and AI deployment using structured data platforms.
Throughout the workshop, attendees gained practical exposure to four key areas: Artificial Intelligence, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, and Microsoft Fabric. Through demonstrations, coding exercises, and collaborative activities, participants learned how modern organizations transform data into actionable insights and intelligent solutions.
Speaking during the workshop, facilitator Akpan Samuel emphasized the importance of strong data infrastructure in building effective AI systems. He noted that while artificial intelligence continues to grow rapidly, reliable and well structured data remains the foundation that powers successful AI applications.
The workshop concluded with interactive discussions, networking opportunities, and collaborative learning sessions. Through initiatives like this, the Ogun Tech Community continues to strengthen Ogun State's technology ecosystem by providing students with access to industry relevant knowledge and practical experience.
